Description:
We are an online e-tailer of novelties, pranks and gags. One of our product lines are prank award certificates. These certifictaes measure 8.5 X 11 inches. HOWEVER, due to size limitations we must show a much smaller version on our site. The problem is that when we scan the certificates and shrink them, they look terrible. We need a decent rendention of each one of the 6 for our site. It must be a close likeness of the real ones. I am attaching a sample of the full size scanned one. The titles of all 6 and the text that goes underneath each headline can be viewed at the site at prankplace.com/certificates.htm this will also show you the size of the images we need. Nothing fancy, just 6 graphics that reasonably represent the likeness of the attached image to the size based on the baove page. 1 of each of 6 headlines and the supporting text for a total of 6 images.

PLEASE NOTE:
As for the images, I do not want a resized image from our scanned originals as the text is not readable and the gold foil seal does not show as gold, but rather a customer graphic created for each of the 6 that resembles the originals but shows the text and the foil seal, etc.

Deliverables:
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Complete copyrights to all work purchased.

I've been a professional Web Designer and Developer for over 4 years, and I have *lots* of experience designing graphics and other creative for online presentation. I am trying to build my reputation on rentacoder.com, so I'm willing to under-bid anyone else only because I'm sure you will want to give me a great review once you see my work!

I will be looking forward to your reply. In the meantime, here is some information about my professional graphic design experience and links to a few of the projects I've worked on:

I spent two years in the early 90s working for a print-oriented art production house. The design projects I fulfilled there included a full-page color ad for American Red Cross (featured in many high-profile publications), and a store-wide campaign promoting Macy's Department Store's [www.macys.com] Valentine's Day Sale. In 1999 I designed two ad banners (one animated, one static) for Ask Jeeves Corporate Services (now known as Jeeves Solutions [www.jeevessolutions.com]), both of which received great responses. And last year I designed a series of eight 120x60 pixel ads for Oxygen Media [www.oxygen.com] promoting some new features on their site. (These were replaced with new ads when Oxygen.com underwent a redesign last Novemeber, but my ads were featured on every page of the site for almost seven months!)

I've attached a couple examples that I just whipped up based on your original. I have to tell you that there is really no way to make the text legible at the image sizes you're using. The words don't even start to become readable until you double the proportions. There are a couple other ways you can make this work, though:

  • Use larger images.
  • Allow the user to click the small image to pop-up a window containing a larger 'detailed view'.

I can do either of these for you. Here are some example screenshots:

I hope all of this information will help you make the right decision. I look forward to your reply.
