Probably, a VB6 data report should be used for this with no extra ocx's or weird dlls. The code must be clearly commented. Included is an example of the file that will get imported, as well as an Access 2000 database which I currently use. The report in the Access file is what I want the data report to look like. If you would prefer to do this with Access and VBA, that is okay too. The way it is now, I need to open my Access database (and therefore I must already own Access 2000), import the file, change the delimiter to semicolon, then save the file into my pre-existing table. Then I need to go to the report section and open the report, then expand the window to see the report. I want all of these steps automated, so the user can just drop the .txt file onto the app and a big report window opens right away without any problems (and looks like the report in the Access db I included). The user should also have the ability to start the app and be asked to browse for file. I would prefer that the user not need to own Access, so I think vb6 with a data report is the best solution. I've include Access just so you can see the concept of getting the data in and doing a report. I have been informed by RAC that I can not ask for demos to make my decision, but any prior work that you've completed that might prove you understand and can do the work would be helpful. Thanks.
