Description:
I have an app. written in VB6 that I need tested on XP with dial-up modem internet connection. It has been thouroughly tested on W98 with cable connection. The app gathers data from various websites and provides stock picks. Most of the testing involves basic install/uninstall and help file function. The app itself pretty much works on its own. Here is a list of the testing items:
Install: Completes with no issues
Help file from menu opens and works
Help file has clear explainations, no typos
Help file from main screen "?" button opens to main screen help
Help file from email screen "?" button opens to email screen help
Password is saved. Password is retrieved when app is reopened.
App. Does not work if no password or incorrect password is used
Email notification works.
All other menu items work.
Email does not work if incorrect password is used.
Email data is saved when app is reopened.
App runs for 5+ hours with no issues. Data in grid is consistant.
Price filter works for all selections.
Uninstall: Completes with no issues.
Misc./Feedback
As you can see from the above, you will need to run the application on Windows XP with a dial-up connection for 5 hours continuously. This must be during weekday hours sometime between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm EST when the market is open.
If any issues are found I'd like a retest done up to 2 additional times after the items are fixed.
Deliverables:
Listing of all the above items to be tested with detailed comments as to the result of the testing.
Platform:
Windows XP with dial-up modem
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Dec 23, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Sir,
I can test this application for you. I can test the software on the following OSes: Win95/98/NT4/Me/2000/XP. I have a dial-up connection and a cable modem connection. Also, I can test the application for security breachs. If you intend to sell the application I can test it and help you make it harder to crack; for this job I have SoftIce, W32Dasm and all kind of tools that crackers use to hack the programs.
