Description:
Purpose of project is to highlight differences in high-level and low-level I/O routines. Write two programs which will read a text file from disk (file name with path given on the command line), change all capital letters to lower case and all lower case letters to capitols, then write the output to another file. Call the new fiel newfile.txt First verson of the program (name the source high_io.ck) should use the standard high-level I/O library <stdio.h> as described. You may use getc() and putc() or fgets() and fputs() or fread()nd fwrite(), as you like. Optionally you may experiment doing it two or three ways. Second version of the program (name the source low_io.c) is a rewrite using low-level I/O (read() adn write () commands). Experiment with different buffer sizes to see if it makes a spped difference. (Note: to see any difference you may need a large text file. Write a simple program or script to write a sample string such as "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.\n" to a file for 1000 or more lines) If you want to practice your C skills, you can reverse each line. That is, the sample line would become "plain the on mainly falls Spain in rain The". Need to be able to check all system calls for return codes (use perror()).

Deliverables:
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

What I want is a completed version programmable in C ONLY I can get to run most importantly.

Complete copyrights to all work purchased.

Platform:
Needs to run on Linux

Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Apr 9, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.

Special Conditions / Other:
MUST BE COMPLETED BY 9 APR 2002
