James most recently designed and coded an application to instantly create a complete web site from pictures downloaded from any digital camera. Later the user could add new pictures to the gallery, add titles and captions to individual pictures and modify the appearance of the gallery. The program optimized images for the web, and used javascript to provide fast, sophisticated navigation. James recently designed and coded a verification and configuration application for a 10G Ethernet switch on a chip. This was an extremely large chip with half a million registers of 263 different kinds. A database containing details of every register, combined with a web server and a device driver allowed the test chip to be configured over the web by any computer with a browser. James was the architect for a North America wide ATM network requiring 15 40G backbone switches. He has patents in packet traffic management and digital signal processing. James provides solutions in the fields of wide area network design and traffic management, network switch design and code, semiconductor verification and applications engineering. His solutions are customer oriented, designed with practical quality criteria, offer leading edge features, and are simply and quickly implemented. James was principal software engineer at Mosaid Semiconductor for two years and network performance analyst at Newbridge Networks for six years.
