EXPERIENCE:
Occupational:
Software Test Engineer (contractor)- Real Networks (Sept 2000 - Oct 2001)
My responsibilities included STE & QA engineering for an internally released server product. This required the utilization of time management skills in being tasked out to complete work in differing areas of focus as well as being available to field immediate/emergency requests. The activities that my STE position at Real entailed included:

--Working to learn database structure; the interpreted language in which the server was coded(Pike, a C++ derivative); and server software architecture.

--The creation of test plans and a subsequent test case matrices.

--The design, construction, and adaptation of tools to aid in testing procedures, creating metrics for testing, and increase productivity through automation of functionality, stress, and load testing.

--Minor production code conversion contributions, functionality extension, as well as the insertion of debug coding into the software as needed to better facilitate troubleshooting efforts.

--Regression of bugs and the BVT'ing latest builds of server software as well providing follow up on issues through triage.

--Additional tasks included outside QA work on email advertising campaigns as well as some client-side auto-upgrade testing.

My efforts to learn the system facilitated my ability to serve as an expert in troubleshooting during both black box and white box testing; in-house staging; and production use. My expertise led to responsibility of documentation of the software.
