     Bulk Copy(BCP) data out of one or all tables from a specified database and specified server to one or all tables in a database on the same or different server.

Ultimately, XML will replace the need 
for BCP & DTS.  But until then in SQL 
2000 you can use BCP to generate from 
the Pubs database a list of authors who 
reside in California by writing code 
similar to the example below.  Note the 
the use of "queryout" in place of 
"out".  That allows you to select which 
data to output.
Example:
BCP 
"SELECT * FROM pubs..authors WHERE 
state = 'CA'" queryout c:\CAauthors.txt 
-c -T -S
